It's almost 5 years since my last post update and my last artwork upload, and I noticed that — at least in my opinion — a lot of previously hyper active artists, and a lot of people I regularly followed, have dropped out of dA over time. Leaving the dA takeover aside, are you guys still around? Or to make it more dramatic:

… is there anybody in here… ?

I've been gaming quite a bit in my free time (and God knows I've got a lot of free time), and I also had the domain varstahl.com parked as an alias for UndeRealM for quite a bit too. Sum it up and you get a one-page info dump about my gaming activities, with probably more stuff to add later on.

So what are you waiting for? You're a gamer/game developer like me? Hit me up!

Really, click here. Ad-free infos. For reals.

Also if you have any comments about the style/design, they're very appreciated.

Musical Update

3 min read
While talking to my guys on TeamSpeak tonight I decided to hunt a video of the song that I had in mind for the last few days. After that came another song. And then another, and another, and the next, and then a classic... Long story short I started building a playlist with songs from 1946 to 2010, it's a total blast.

If you're interested you can check it out on YouTube, starting with the song that tormented my last nights.

If you don't know these songs, you should. Just saying.

Link's right there, you know ;)

And yes, charmie, I'm all about waiting to know how many of the 81 songs you NEVER heard about :lmao:

I had a project in mind for months: I wanted to check out if I was able to turn my X360 Guitar Hero: World Tour drum into an electronic drum I could use to play and record some of my music. During a hot summer afternoon I left my girlfriend napping and started to tinker with it. A few hours later I had a piece of software that recognized all the drum pieces and could send out MIDI events. A couple days later I added to it so much it seemed I was playing a huge drum, given that almost every single piece of it plays 2 different sounds depending on how you hit them.

But I'm digressing. I just uploaded some artwork I've been drawing for the last two days or so, if you have any comment or constructive criticism (or even destructive) please be welcome to do so. I think the piece is quite finished, but I might still use a few advices as well.

Also on a totally unrelated note, since last journal update I created a Twitter account where I post useless details of my daily routines, mainly programming related, but not only that. Feel free to stalk at will. [Edit: The lastest entries are also shown here on dA, in the lower part of my profile.]

See you around :#1:

Today I decided to finally put my beloved Cintiq 20WSX to work again, with all good intents and wishful thinking. Little did I know that since I upgraded to Windows 7 I NEVER used the Cintiq as an input device, let alone installed the drivers. It took the good part of an afternoon to install and configure everything: drivers, settings, right-side buttons, radial menus, secondary taskbars and so on. And don't even try to get me started on Corel Photopaint crashes...

Anyway in the end I actually managed to get things done, and I'm feeling quite happy to fiddle around on the Cintiq. I believe I will publish something as soon as I'm done with the main graphic "projects" I got in mind at the moment. So yes, charmie, you will have something more to chew shortly, as per request :giggle:

And while I'm at it, let me spam a bit: whenever you can drop by :icondooniveh: Dooniveh, she needs some good critics on her artwork, as she's just beginning using tablets and digital coloring.

Guess this is it for now, back to drawing/editing.
